БРЕЙН-РИНГ

Правила гри

1.   Гра проводиться між двома чи кількома командами одночасно з ви­користанням дзвіночків.

2.   Завдання команд — дати правильні відповіді на всі поставлені запитання раніше, ніж це зроблять інші граючі команди. За кожну правильну відпо­відь, дану вчасно й раніше за інші команди, команда одержує один бал.

3.   Ведучий оголошує раунд, ставить запитання й вимовляє слово «час», при цьому він запускає механізм відліку часу на обмірковування (го­динник із секундною стрілкою), що дорівнює одній хвилині.

4.   Команда, що бажає дати відповідь, сигналізує про це дзенькотом дзві­ночка.

5.   Після того, як команда одержала право відповіді, капітан команди на­зиває гравця, який буде відповідати, і цей гравець починає говорити не пізніше, ніж через три секунди після одержання права відповіді. Якщо гравець досить довго не відповідає, обмежуючись загальними фраза­ми, ведучий має право позбавити команду права відповіді. Рішення ведучого з цього приводу оскарженню не підлягає.

6.   Якщо відповідь правильна, то ведучий зупиняє обговорення й прису­джує команді, що дала відповідь, бал. У протилежному випадку веду­чий оголошує, що відповідь неправильна, і знову запускає механізм відліку, дозволяючи грати решті команд.

7.   Якщо всі команди дали неправильну відповідь на питання або за­кінчився час на обговорення, питання знімається і бал за нього не при­суджується нікому.

8. Команда, що продзвонила у дзвіночок до того, як був пущений меха­нізм відліку часу, вважається такою, що зробила фальстарт, і вибуває з обговорення поточного питання. Для решти команд подається ко­манда «час» і запускається механізм відліку часу.

Критерії оцінювання відповідей у грі «Бреин-ринг»

1.  Відповідь вважається правильною, якщо:

а) розкрито зміст запитання з достатнім ступенем конкретизації;

б) форма відповіді збігається з формою запитання.

2.  Відповідь вважається неправильною, якщо:

а)  команда дала два чи більше варіанти відповіді;

б)  відповідь не відповідає критеріям правильної відповіді;

в) у відповіді допущено грубі поминки (неправильно названо іменай на-
зви, наведено спосіб дії тощо), що спотворюють зміст відповіді.

3.  За наявності у відповіді додаткової інформації власне відповіддю вва-
жається фраза або слово, що прямо відповідає на запитання. Неточ-
ності в додатковій інформації не враховуються, якщо вони не зміню-
ють суті відповіді.

Обслуговування ігор «Брейн-ринг»

1.   Ігри обслуговуються Ведучими (дві особи) і Журі (п'ят ь осіб).

2.   Ведучий зобов'язаний:

•    строго дотримуватися порядку гри, вчасно включати й виключати від­лік часу, чітко й розбірливо зачитувати запитання;

•    не допускати психологічного тиску на гравців, бути максимально ко­ректним і об'єктивним в оцінці відповідей;

•    перед початком турніру представляти команди одна одній, глядачам,  а також представитися самому;

•    перед кожним раундом повідомляти рахунок гри;

•    у випадку неправильної відповіді команди, що відповідає першою,  користуватися лише фразою «Відповідь неправильна» та повідомляти за­лишок чистого часу;

•    за наявності претензій команд прийняти їх усі до початку чергового туру;

•    ознайомитися з ігровим матеріалом до початку гри й усвідомити зміст запитань, що задаються;

•    попереджати команди про можливість зняття їх зі змагання у випадку неспортивного поводження.

Ведучий має право:

•    не зараховувати відповідь команди, що не відповідає критеріям оці­нювання правильності відповіді;

•    не приймати під час гри протестів від граючих команд та інших осіб;

•    звертатися за консультативною допомогою до обраних ним помічників з метою ухвалення рішення в складній ігровій ситуації;

•    не зараховувати відповідь команди чи позбавляти її права відповіді в разі втручання в процес гри сторонніх осіб;

•    позбавляти права присутності на грі (у залі) осіб, які допустили втру­чання в процес гри;

•    позбавляти права участі в змаганні команду, що допустила під час гри некоректне поводження щодо ведучого, судді, суперників або глядачів.

Game.

Objectives: to develop students' speak­ing skills; to check students' skills of listening comprehension; to stimulate students think and analyze; to develop students outlook and encourage them to speak English.

Materials: picture cards, handouts, two boxes with hidden objects inside, cas­settes, CD-disk, paper, colored pen­cils.

Participants: two teams: the team of boys called "Lions" and the team of girls called     "Rising Stars".

Contest

T. Good afternoon, dear jury, our teams and guests. You're welcome to the in­tellectual English contest "Brain-ring". Our aim is to show students' knowledge not only of English but Literature and Geography as well, to widen outlook and encourage students to speak.

Now I'd like to introduce you our jury... I think they will judge our competition fairly.

T. Today two teams take part in our competition: the team of boys called "Lions" and the team of girls called " Rising Stars ". They will introduce themselves.

"Lions": our slogan is "We are good, we are nice, and we are brave guys".

"Rising Stars": our slogan is "Rise with us! We are "Rising Stars!"

Contest I "Name the animal"

T. You'll be shown pictures of animals and your task is to name as much ani­mals as you can for one minute.

Contest II

"Choose the correct answer"

T. Now another contest. The teams get cards with 10 statements and the task is to choose the correct answer. You have 5 minutes for this task. Captains come to me and get the cards.

While the teams are doing the task we'll listen to the song "There are three months in a year" performed by the pu­pils of 3rd form. (Pupils present 4 sea­sons and 12 months each has the picture card of the month).

I see that the teams have already coped with the task. While the members of the jury are evaluating the teams' work we'll watch another contest.

Contest III "Draw a Story"

You'll listen to a short story and your task is to draw what's the story about. Teams get paper and colored pencils.

A Little Spider

A little spider lived in a big forest. He was very little and very lonely. He didn't have any friends and was very sad. One sunny day when he was laying in the sun he heard buzzing and saw a small fly who became involved in spider's web. The little spider helped her and they became friends.

T. I see that the teams have already coped with the task. While the mem­bers of the jury are evaluating the teams' work we'll listen to the song performed by students.

Contest IV. "Miming"

T. The task for each team is to show the story they get to another team in mim­ing. Another team has to guess what they show.

Task 1. You have a strong headache, go to the dentist and ask for help.

Task 2. You come to a shop and buy some bread.

T. We want to ask the jury to announce the results of the fourth contest.

Characters: Tom Sawyer, Aunt Polly.

Aunt Polly: Tom!...Tom!... (No an­swer)  Where is the boy? Tom!

Tom (appearing): Here I am.

Aunt Polly: Oh, you've been to that closet! What were you doing there?

Tom: Nothing.

Aunt Polly: Nothing! Look at your hands. And look at your mouth. What is that?

Tom: I don't know, Aunt.

Aunt Polly: Well, I know. It's jam, that's what it is. Hand me that switch!

Tom: Oh, look behind you!

(Aunt Polly looks behind. Tom runs away)

Contest VI "Guess the object"

T. Each team gets a box where there is an object and some promptings. The task is to guess what's inside.

Box1. It lives in the forest. It's afraid of everybody and everything. It likes to eat cabbage. (Hare).

Box2. He comes on Christmas and puts presents in stockings. (Santa Claus or Father Christmas)

T. We want to ask the jury to announce the results of the sixth contest.

Well, our party is coming to the and soon we'll find which team is the beast. While the jury is counting the scores we'll listen to a song performed by the girls.

The judges announce the results of the contest.

T. Our brain ring has come to the end and we're thankful to our teams, par­ticipants and jury. Wishing you all the best we say good-bye to you.
